Double Barr Cottages

The cottage is perfect for a short stay for 3 people and 2 dogs. Everything was clean and fresh. Air conditioning was good. The place is quiet. Folks are friendly. The management does enhanced cleaning for the Covid situation. It's close to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there.

Great location ! Pizzeria and stripes have it all ! At walking distance to everything ! Stayed in #13 over the labor day weekend ! Only thing no close parking for that cottage and neighbors with Dogs did not pick up after their pups. Which was a downfall since people are in sandals and kids . but place is clean with picnic tables nice in evenings to relax ... My family had a blast thank you for having this place

This is our third stay in these cottages. We book here because they are simple and fun to stay in. We don't go to Port A and stay indoors. We are out and about from sun up to sun down. If this is you then this is your perfect spot. Excellent location. Walking distance to the beach, Brons, pizza joint next door and other spots all around. With only one bathroom plan accordingly and you shouldn't have a problem ( We had 6 in our group). Room was available early as well and they were kind enough to let us know.

This place was the most cleanest funniest place that you could just kick your feet up and enjoy your ice cold beer extremely close to the ocean literally at eight minute walk to the ocean you have within throwing a rock distance from you and the management. Patty is extremely awesome, and I hope to return as soon as possible

We have been going to Double Barr at least a half dozen times a year for the past 5 years. Patsy and her team are always friendly, accommodating and provide information about what’s happening around the island. We only stay at Double Barr when visiting Port Aransas. The cottages are all a little different from each other and have everything you need for a short or long stay. The cottages are very reasonable in price and provide a little home away from home. You are just a short drive from the beach and have your own quiet space. Kitchen is stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. There a fridge, stove and space to cook. The cottages have window unit a/c and a wall heater for the winter. On season and off, Double Barr is a great time. It’s clean, dog friendly, no shared walls, and parking for 2 on property directly in front of your cottage. Patsy and her team are always around to help if you need anything. 10/10 will stay here again and again.

Our little cottage was exactly what we wanted and just like the listing. It was clean and easy to find. We had three kids and although it was small, it didn't feel cramped. Even with 5 people in one space, there was enough hot water for everyone to shower at the end of the day. For some reason there wasn't a broom and within an hour of contacting the host, one was outside our front door. OMG kids & sand!!! The beds were comfy, even for the picky kids. Each room had its own A/C so, with the door closed, it stays nice & cool. Thankfully, they have one washer and two dryers in the wash room; be sure to clean the lint trap so your stuff dries more quickly. There's a gas grill if you need it and a pizza place next door with a buffet and friendly staff in case you don't want to cook. We all enjoyed our stay.

I love this place! We stayed a while back for my daughters birthday weekend. We had three adults and two teens. It was just great friendly staff, clean unit, comfortable beds. You can’t beat the location in proximity to the beach and shops, I skated all around the area in the am and it is just the best by far! Told my family about this place many times, I think we are going to do a group trip and use them again. We didn’t cool, but we used the fridge it is defiantly a useful asset to have on vacation… especially with kiddos!

If your looking for a quieter, quaint…very clean beach stay, this is your place! Cottages, have recently been updated & re-designed for comfort, and more space for entertaining. (no more in-adequate futons) comfy love seat style sofa…and updated furniture! Only a 8 min walk to the beach! They have a laundromat on the property, for a minor cost. They also have a nice fish cleaning house….Kitchens are decently supplied with clean, utensils and place settings for 4. We found everything we needed within walking distance! Grocery, ice, restaurants All very close! We will be winterizing here every year!
